Post Interview Thoughts
Today I had an interview at a Hospital with a person who had a clinical background while working in a management position. In fact the greater part of his career was in the clinical side of health care and just couple years back he switched over to the business side of health care to experience a new type of career. When he was telling me about his prior work experience, all I could think about was how much that must help him working at his current position. In many of the HMP classes I have taken at UNH, it has been repeated across classes that there is a divide between medical staff (doctors/nurses) and the administrative side. I asked him if he saw that within the hospital he worked at and he agreed with my professors. I can see it being very frustrating to work in this environment because both clinical and administrative roles are equally as important.
